Niel Vanterpool

Niel Vanterpool is an electrical engineer, utility executive, entrepreneur, mentor, and community advocate with more than 15 years of experience leading complex infrastructure, technology, and recovery initiatives. As Co-Founder, Treasurer, and a Director of Omni Ignited Inc., he brings strategic planning, organizational leadership, technology expertise, and a longstanding commitment to youth development and community resilience to the Board. His experience leading mission-critical operations and large, multi-stakeholder initiatives complements Omni Ignited's focus on strong stewardship, sustainable programs, and measurable community impact.

Mr. Vanterpool is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of N5 LLC, a multidisciplinary energy and infrastructure consulting firm. Before founding N5, he spent more than 15 years with the Virgin Islands Water & Power Authority, ultimately serving as Director of Transmission & Distribution. His leadership included electric system planning, operations, modernization, automation, renewable energy integration, and disaster recovery. Through N5, he continues to advise utilities, developers, government agencies, and businesses on infrastructure, technology, cybersecurity, renewable energy, and strategic planning.

A longtime entrepreneur who has launched and managed business ventures since 2005, he also brings practical small business financial management experience in resource planning, budgeting, expense and cash flow management, vendor and contractual oversight, and financial decision-making for sustainable operations. These capabilities directly strengthen his service as Treasurer, as he brings an owner’s understanding of financial accountability together with an executive's experience managing complex programs, controls, risk, and organizational resources.

Beyond his professional career, Mr. Vanterpool has maintained a longstanding commitment to mentorship, education, entrepreneurship, and community service. His service has included work as a youth minister and leader, tutoring students from kindergarten through 12th grade, supporting STEM education initiatives, and advising emerging entrepreneurs and startups. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and a certificate in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Through Omni Ignited, he is committed to expanding opportunity for young people, strengthening community capacity, encouraging STEM and entrepreneurial pathways, and building programs and institutions designed for lasting impact.
